Natural Colon Cleanse

Many people prefer herb-based formulas as a type of natural colon cleanse. But these formulas are not as effective oxygen based cleansers . The herbs that you typically find in these colon cleansers are:

  • Aloe Leaf, which helps the body absorb nutrients during digestion and a natural laxative.
  • Cascara Sagrada, a natural laxative.
  • Ginger, which helps break down proteins to rid the stomach and intestines of gas. It also aids in the digestion of fatty foods.
  • Cayenne Pepper which was used by Chinese herbalists for digestive ailments. Soothes the digestive tract and helps digest food.
  • Senna which stimulates gastric juices and helps ease constipation.

Herb based colon cleansing formulas vary greatly in quality and effectiveness. Typically, the best colon cleansers are made by experienced herbalists and contain herbs that destroy the bacteria and remove the toxins with in the bowls. It is important that you use a cleanser that has herbs that are of the highest quality. Lesser quality herbal products will not necessarily do you any harm but will give you a poorer cleanse. They will not remove toxins as effectively and will probably mean that you will have to re-do the cleanse a short time period after you finish the first.

A natural colon cleanse is the process of cleaning out your body through natural means, which is getting rid of waste matter and other byproducts of activity and consumption without the assistance of any medical or surgical techniques. In most cases, diet modifications and herbal supplementation are all it takes to cleanse the entire system the natural way. A natural colon cleanse is arguably a better option than resorting to cleansing treatments that use a variety of solutions and medications.

A diet high fruits, veggies, seeds, and whole fibers and grains is recommended for a good and thorough clean-up of the bowel. Lots of soluble and insoluble fiber in the diet is useful in stimulating the bowel into expelling waste material on a regular basis, since soluble fiber dissolves in water and prevents constipation, while insoluble fiber can serve as ‘brooms’ which can ‘sweep’ the colon clean of any waste material. A high-fiber diet also promotes easier passage of stool. Being indigestible, it traps waste material in the bowel, which in turn traps more water, and therefore makes stool less compact so that it can easily make its way out of your bowel. Another good source of fiber are vegetable juices. Green vegetables are also an excellent source of chlorophyll, which is essential in the repair of tissues and detoxification.

Adequate intake of water, 8 to 10 glasses a day, is a must for a natural colon cleanse. Shortage of water can cause constipation and if allowed to worsen, could lead to electrolyte imbalance.

Knowing what you can take in is not enough, however. You should also be aware of the food that you take in order to help your body clean itself more efficiently. This includes cutting back on caffeine and alcohol, which can do a very good job of draining water out of your body, making you more prone to dehydration and constipation. Also avoid foods high in fat like dairy products because these can also raise your risk for constipation.

And finally, get some exercise. The right amount will keep the circulation flowing to every part of the body. Good circulation is important in keeping your system functioning well. Activities like Yoga, walking, jogging, working out at the gym, swimming-all these can improve the circulation all throughout your body.
